Other Events

In addition to the Annual Conference, the GRITS (Girls Raised In Tennessee Science) Collaborative Project will host a variety of events for girl-serving organizations, educators, and business professionals in its area.

The project begins with a kick-off conference to announce the project and begin networking among the participants.

The kick-off conference is followed by two topic forums that provide professional development activities, highlight local programs, and continue the valuable networking experience.

During this time, programs have collaborated to apply for and earn mini-grant awards, then carry out those projects.

• GRITS Collaborative Project Forum
  The GRITS Collaborative Project Forum was held on August 12, 2010 at Middle Tennessee State University. The keynote speaker focused on diversity in STEM. Other presentations included: the importance of networking, the NGCP Program Directory and applying for mini-grants.
