From the Director...
Hi  Everyone,

Time is flying and the fall semester will be here soon.   This morning  after meeting with my Project SEED scholar about opportunities for women in STEM, I pulled up a report by the Georgetown University Center on Education and the Workforce.  This report is found at http://cew.georgetown.edu/JOBS2018/
According to this report, in 2018, there are predicted to be 101 million jobs in the United States requiring a post secondary education, with 8 million of these jobs proposed to be in STEM fields. In Tennessee, 54% of jobs in 2018 will require post secondary education with 50,000 positions in computer and mathematical science, 31,000 jobs in engineering and 12,000 in the life and physical science fields. Who are doing to do these jobs in Tennessee if not Girls Raised In Tennessee Science?

Thank you for your continued support of the GRITS collaborative Project.   With your support Tennessee will be ready to meet the demand for STEM professionals in 2018.
