Other Events
In addition to the Annual Conference, the Southern New England Girls Collaborative Project will host a variety of events for girl-serving organizations, educators, and business professionals in its area.
The project begins with a kick-off conference to announce the project and begin networking among the participants.
The kick-off conference is followed by two topic forums that provide professional development activities, highlight local programs, and continue the valuable networking experience.
During this time, programs have collaborated to apply for and earn mini-grant awards, then carry out those projects.

The Northeastern Girls Collaborative Project Kick-Off was held at Smith College on November 19, 2009. Participants enjoyed a day of networking and shared information about their project or organization with others. Presentations included information on barriers to serving girls in STEM and upcoming mini-grant opportunities. The Northeastern Girls Collaborative Project (NEGC) brings together organizations throughout New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts and Rhode Island that are committed to informing and motivating girls to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The Northeastern Girls Collaborative aims to reduce competition and increase STEM outreach, interest and participation by providing opportunities for organizations to come together at events like these and leverage the know-how, talents and resources of programs with like-minded interests.
