Engineering Exploration Camp

Partnering with the Russ College of Engineering and Technology, IWASM hosts the Engineering Exploration Camp on the Athens campus of Ohio University. Established in 2008, the camp gives female high school students the opportunity to explore careers specifically in engineering. This three-day residential experience will introduce participants to chemical, civil, electrical, mechanical engineering (haptics/robotics), industrial technology (plastics) and automatic identification technology. Program courses are taught by Ohio University engineering faculty. Students are given the opportunity to interact with Ohio Univversity engineering students who work as program counselors. Participants are housed in a residence hall on the campus under the supervision of university-trained chaperones and escorts. Round trip bus transportation to Ohio University (Athens, OH) from Cleveland is provided.
