| This new initiative is designed to provide adolescent females with encouragement to pursue STEM careers. They are provided academic and cultural enrichment activities and the opportunity to participate in service-learning projects. Project Purpose: • Expand Camp Promise summer enrichment program for girls. Has been in operation since 2003. • Provide academic support to students (tutoring and homework assistance) • Provide life-skills development and support (effective study skills, teambuilding, conflict resolution, time management, etc.) • Introduce girls to Science, Technology, Engineering and Math careers • Provide physical exercise and enrichment activities (dance, yoga, martial arts, etc.) • Introduce youth to community service learning and how they can make a difference in the community | |||

| Young Women of Promise, Inc. is a nonprofit corporation which promotes the involvement of parents, families, educators, business and community leaders in programs that provide social, academic, and community service learning activities for adolescent females. We believe the future of our African-American youth is promising. Our college access and youth development programs are designed to prepare students in grades 6-12 for success in school and beyond. Our programs encourage positive youth development and academic achievement. | |||
