Evangelina Galvan Shreeve

Evangelina Galvan-ShreeveFor over twenty years, Evangelina Galvan Shreeve has provided leadership in diversity and higher education for a variety of organizations including the University of Washington, Columbia Basin College and most recently with Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), operated by Battelle for the United States Department of Energy.

In her role as the Manager for STEM Education at PNNL, Ms. Shreeve is responsible for providing leadership, direction and assessment of the Science and Engineering Education efforts in pre-college and secondary programs, including the Department of Energy’s Workforce Development for Scientists and Teachers; work-based learning programs, such as internships and fellowships, and also inclusion and engagement strategies that related to education programs and early career development at PNNL.  Before she joined PNNL, Ms. Shreeve was the Director of Community Partnerships for the University of Washington where she was the primary liaison for UW Yakima Valley Community Partnership office and Educational Outreach program.

From 2001-2007, Ms. Shreeve served as the Vice-President for Diversity and Grants Administration for Columbia Basin College (CBC). In this role, Ms. Shreeve was achieved great success in increasing the Hispanic student population at CBC from 9% to nearly 27% in just 5 years. 

Her education background includes Harvard University – JFK School of Government, Center for Creative Leadership and the University of Washington – Evans School of Government. Ms. Shreeve is active in a variety of community service organizations including TechREACH,  a project that helps K-12 schools involve underrepresented minority and low-income middle schools students in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM),  a community member of 4 C’s (Communication, Cooperation, Collaboration, Consolidation) Task Force- Tri-Cities Three Rivers Community Roundtable for TRIDEC, Board member for the Yakima Valley Community Foundation and also as a Lecturer for the University of Washington’s Public Leadership Academy.

Ms. Shreeve is the oldest of 5 children, born to farm workers. Her first educational experience in Kindergarten sparked a passion for learning and fueled her pioneering spirit to push both familial and cultural boundaries. As a result, Ms. Shreeve was the first female in her family to attend college.
